Denmark Prince Henrik died at the age of 83.
An announcement printed publicly by the Danish royal household reads: "His Royal Highness Prince Henrik died at Fredentborg Fort on Tuesday, February 13, at 11:18 pm The Prince was surrounded by Her Majesty the Queen and her two sons. "
Prince Henrik was hospitalized with pneumonia at the tip of the 12 months in January through the journey to Egypt. On his return to Copenhagen, medical doctors found a benign tumor in his lungs. Henrik later contracted an an infection, and the palace introduced final Friday that his situation had "severely deteriorated." On the identical day, his son Prince Fredrik returned house from the Olympics to be together with his household.
Final September, Prince Henrik was identified with dementia.
The Queen survives Queen Margrethe II whom he married in Copenhagen in June 1967, and her two sons, Crown Prince Frederik, 49, and Prince Joachim 48.
Plans for a funeral weren’t disclosed.
